If you’ve ever thought that positive thinking and manifesting are the same thing, think again… because positive thinking ISN’T manifesting.
Ever since Napoleon Hill published his world-famous book, “Think and Grow Rich”, there have been so many prominent speakers and authors who advocate for positive thinking.
Think Tony Robbins, Zig Zigler and Norman Vincent Peale – to name a few…
However, there is a big difference between being positive and thinking positive thoughts and manifesting.
When I ran my remedial massage clinic in Sydney, I had a chap who worked for me who was RIDICULOUSLY CHEERFUL.
It was so much so that it came across as fake and disingenuous.
I found out later that deep down, he was actually going through a lot of his own stuff. However, he thought it was best if he showed up as being happy and joyful.
And so here’s the thing. You can be a “pretend positive person” and show up on the outside as “the world is peachy”.
But if you don’t actually believe it or you haven’t embodied it, then it’s all a lie.
And the Universe knows it – because you can’t fake your vibration.
The danger with being a “pretend positive person” and relying on an attitude of positive thinking, is that you might be unintentionally choosing to refuse to look at what ‘s going on, on a deeper level. Which could lead to self-medication (eg. drugs, alcohol or even food) to cope and/or suppress what your body is trying to tell you.
This of course, will NEVER lead you to be able to manifest the life you truly want.
What’s the difference between positive thinking and manifesting?
The reason why manifestation isn’t just about positive thinking, is because it’s to do with your vibration.
It’s about your entire state of being (not just your thoughts), being congruent with what you want to show up in life.
Yes, it is important to have a postitive mindset, when manifesting.
But that’s not where it stops. You need to also embody what you desire.
This is why I’m often skeptical of using affirmations alone.
Because 99% of the time, people don’t believe that what they are saying is true.
For example, if someone doesn’t believe that they are a multi-millionaire and they are constantly saying that statement. When they don’t believe it, they are causing their bodies more stress and their mind is probably saying “yeah, right!”. And, it might even very well be reinforcing how much they are NOT a multi-millionaire (and how what they are doing doesn’t work).
The thing to realise here is…
If you’re feeling stressed, you aren’t in alignment with what you are wanting to create more of.
So how do you actually manifest?
The key is in your energy and vibration.
We know that the Law of Attraction talks about how you will attract what you ARE.
It’s not about attracting what you think about.
So how can you start to BE the person who already has what you desire?
Think about that for a second.
It’s not just thinking positively, eg – “what I want is going to come my way“.
No… it’s about consciously creating the outcome that you desire in life, BEFORE it happens.
You might be asking – how can you see the RESULT that you want, before it happens? That doesn’t make sense…
It’s by thinking, acting and feeling as if it’s already happened. (According to Abraham Hicks, this is a process called segment intending. By consciously focusing on the outcome and being in alignment with it, emotionally and physically, you’re more likely to be able to manifest it, rather than hoping it will happen).
Manifestation is more than just postitive thinking because it’s about embodying what you desire first, and then allowing it to show up for you.
